Milwaukee Chews [Day 2]

Day two started with a stop at Alterra at the Lake. We walked there on the lakefront path from Brady St. We weren't sure if the path we were on connected with the cafe so instead of walking further down the path to find out, we took a shortcut through the woods that ended in the parking lot behind Alterra. :D On our way back we found out that if we had walked another 50 feet we would have found stairs. Oops.

Julie and I split a blueberry muffin (had to save room for our lunch tour) and I got a honey latte (super good!).
Photos below are from the Brady St Food Tour. My favorite taste was the shepherd's pie from Brocach...but they were all good!
In order of appearance (left to right): Cheese pizza from Zaffiro's Pizza; Chicken tinga taco from Cempazuchi's; Cannoli - Peter Sciortino's Bakery; Prosciutto, pastrami, & olives (not pictured) - Glorioso Bros. Grocery; Shepherd's pie - Brocach Milwaukee; Lakefront Riverwest Stein - Wolski's Tavern.
After the tour, we headed toward the Third Ward to check out the MKE Public Market. It's cute. I wanted to see the Outdoor Urban Market, but that's only on Saturdays. :(

On Saturday I got a craving for ice cream, but nothing was popping up on Yelp. I asked the cashier at Walgreens and she seemed as clueless as me. So before our food tour ended, I asked our guide if there are any good ice cream places in Milwaukee. She said the big thing is frozen custard. Love frozen custard. She pointed us to Leon's
I loved it as soon as we pulled up. It reminds me of Ted Drewes back home in St. Louis. Leon's has three regular flavors (chocolate, vanilla, and butter pecan) and adds a fourth flavor of the day. That Sunday it was raspberry. I got a scoop of butter pecan and raspberry and they were delicious!
